Android side project resumed!

by tekkdrone on Oct.27, 2009, under miscellaneous

Sorry about the absence folks, as of last week, I’ve resumed development on the .27 kernel and Android for the HTC Apache due to developments in the community, changes in the kernel, HTC’s hero source code release, and an increasing interest in Android.
Also, I have some free time again… which means time for side-projects. :)

Git repo temporarily offline

by tekkdrone on Jun.26, 2009, under miscellaneous

Sorry I’ve been gone a while, things got a little hectic at work, I’m back for a while and looking forward to checking out some of the new Android developments. :)

At the moment, I need to repurpose the box that’s been hosting my git repo locally so it will be offline until I can redirect the url to a mirror in public space. It should be good to go by the end of the weekend.  The work on the repo is at best 3 mos.

Git repo back up

by tekkdrone on Mar.24, 2009, under miscellaneous

Sorry about that, had a power failure yesterday, the machine hosting the repo is not on UPS as I don’t own one at the moment. In any case, it’s back up and should be fully accessible again.

Git repository online

by tekkdrone on Feb.27, 2009, under programming

The source code that was used to build the latest test kernel is up on a git repository; gitweb-only access at the moment. The DNS might take up to 24 hours to propogate if you notice you are unable to access it right away. The source is basically the Android 2.6.27 kernel with the first bits of Apache added. The repository can be accessed here http://git.chillaxin.net/cgi-bin/gitweb.cgi or via the link at the top of the page.

[Command Line ONLY] – kernel 2.6.27 test package

by tekkdrone on Feb.25, 2009, under programming

Here’s a test build of the more recent 2.6.27 kernel. It’s recommended you be at least a moderate linux user for this to be of any interest to you.  Some of the code+keys are mapped, allowing basic traversal and execution.  For now, don’t worry about errors booting, but do let me know if any of you see any kernel panics.

If you know how to setup usb networking, the usb networking module is built into the new kernel but you have to stay connected to the target system when you run HaRET (usb power code isn’t in yet) The ‘netup’ command will startup usb networking on the Apache with an address of 192.168.0.2.

Well that’s refreshing

by tekkdrone on Feb.23, 2009, under cool, miscellaneous

I’m taking a moment to post a quick thank you to Dan M. in Pittsburgh for his recent donation.  Thank you for your contribution, especially during these tough economic times when money is tight and futures are uncertain.

Thanks again,

Joey (tekkdrone)
